The C.Breezy Dougie

Keeping the constant flow of my schedule busy as always, last Tuesday after just arriving home from my weekend getaway the night before, my girlfriend Liana had already pre-booked tickets for a few of my mates and I to see Chris Brown in concert for his Sydney F.A.M.E tour. Arriving at the concert held at Acer Arena much earlier than what I'm use to; we grabbed a few alcoholic beverages to get our night going and as after the first drink turned into a second then a third and so fourth, you can pretty much sum our night up from there on haha. Plenty of laughs, singing along, dancing and dougie-ing. We even made use of the free photo booths they had set up at the venue – it’s always great to come home with a few silly keep sakes. Seeing Chris Brown live was much better than I had expected. Even with such a bad personal history, he's still a remarkable performer at the end of the day. Ending the concert with the final track 'Beautiful people' couldn't have blown the roof off even more. The futuristic neon suit he had on for that final track was just insanely trippy... but nevertheless whether it was the alcohol or just the company of my mates, I had the most amazing night and ended up with his track 'look at me know' replaying in my head all night following through to the morning!

Queensland route home

It was finally time to hit the road and bid our farewells to the Gold Coast - Queensland. Tim and I both knew it was going to be quite a long journey back home driving directly to Sydney this time round. So packed up, checked out and all set to go, we made a quick decision to stop by a random bakery to grab a light bite along the way before entering the main freeway. Out of spontaneity turning off and picking the first small bakery we saw on the road called 'Foster's Bakery', it just so happens to freshly bake and sell probably one of the best meat pies I've ever tasted called the 'Ned Kelly' Pie. The Ned Kelly meat pie was your normal meat pie but with an egg centre and a bacon and cheese surface. Definitely not too good with calories, but ridiculously delish! We notice it was rather popular as there were plenty of customers coming in and out of the store ordering the same pie. So obviously, we thought we'd might as well try it out for ourselves. I'm always so surprised at the interesting last minute decisions Tim and I have been making on this trip.

So we were on the road once again and expecting at most a 12 hour travel back home. What sounds like a really long time being on the road, really did not feel like it whatsoever. During the entire day Tim and I made sure to take turns in driving as well as making a few pit stops at random locations to bask in the beautiful scenery and a chance to stretch our legs. Few of the significant scenic moments on the drive back was when we passed by a very beautiful green hillside valley with a coastal view, I’ve manage to snap a few photos whilst sitting as passenger as we also passed colourful crops, farms, more valleys and riversides that constantly closely paralleled the freeway – absolutely so much appreciation of nature’s beauty whilst on the road. It wasn't till the afternoon that Tim and I stopped over at Coffs Harbour in time for lunch. Grabbing the traditional coastal meal of Fish and Chips we pulled the car up by a lovely area that pretty much overlooked the ocean. Clearing out the boot of the Range Rover we made enough space for both Tim and I to climb into the back, to simply make ourselves comfortable and enjoy our fish and chips, and yummy Brie cheese and crackers. The only thing missing that moment was a good bottle of white wine to compliment. It was just so nice to spontaneously have lunch by the ocean, breathing in that fresh ocean air and basking in the warm sun. That pit stop really felt essential!

Trying not to waste anymore time we set off again and before you know it we were welcomed back home by Sydney's horrible rainy weather once again. Fairly tired from such a drive, snuggling up together in bed with a movie was the best way to end our trip together later that night back in chilly Sydney. Although I knew I was going to have fun with my boyfriend on a vacation alone together, but I didn't expect to have so much fun as I did considering how much activities we included in our itinerary during that short vacation... however good company was also the key. But as you can imagine after every trip I’ve been arriving home from recently has been putting me into immediate holiday withdrawals making it difficult to get my head wrapped around to adjust back to routine again. And so to no surprises after such an amusing short holiday together, Tim and I are already in talks for our next trip. We’re looking into travelling to Vietnam and the Philippines at the end of year. But we'll see how that goes and how we'll go abouts saving haha. Spontaneous decisions tend to turn out better than expected and much more exciting. Who could really get enough of travelling?
