Holiday Hiatus

Hey guys, with such a packed out holiday itinerary I won't be able to post as often as I thought I would after just 4 days into my holiday. By the time I arrive back at the hotel, all I seriously want to do is crash out and catch up on sleep. But I suppose it's just because the start of our trip has been absolutely so intense with partying and non-stop shopping. So for now I'm on Hiatus until I reach a day when I'm bothered enough to log online haha...

The Life... at it's best!

So the past several days have been chaotic as ever, as expected; with both work, having to sort out absolutely everything that needs to be covered before I leave, as well as catching up with all the loved ones. Yesterday night I caught up with the ladies Felicia and Liana over a lovely dinner at our usual hang out joint in Parramatta before spending quality time with Tim later that night. Today I finally got around to packing my luggage. It's so difficult to pack minimal to cater both hot and cooler weather with the climate difference in each country I'll be hitting. Plus there’s the difficulty in trying not to pack too much clothes to accommodate for our party clubbing nights. Looking good is quite the mission LOL. But personally I think I've done a decent job in pack 'minimal'. I've stuck to my plan to pack plenty of chiffon and comfortable clothing that can be utilises for both day to night. So note for travellers: Chiffon tops are the bomb. They're light to pack, looks good and you can pull them off for both day and night occasions. Always have the essentials like black leggings, light denim shorts and a tube skirt because they’re just simply so versatile to mix and match around with. But with most of the major things all covered today finally, it still feels like there's yet still plenty to do before I take off in less than 2 days. Tim came over to visit once again today (trying to spend as much quality time with him before I leave of course) followed by a lovely dinner at Holy Basil with my other ladies Vanna, Amanda, Catherine, and the boy besties Jimbo, Hong, AJ and his fiancé Fon. I feel so complete after tonight! And thanks to Tona (owner of Holy Basil restaurant) for the complimentary beverages as always. But it's great to see everyone before I head off, even though it's not even for that long... but wow do I feel loved and missed! It's going to be such a rollercoaster from tomorrow night onwards. Only one more working day left then HELLO SHOPPING, SUN AND COCKTAILS BY THE BEACH! Everything’s just becoming a whole lot more exciting from now on. Excitingly enough Tim also insisted on treating me to a lovely dinner date tomorrow night before go. He's made reservations to Jimmy Liks located in King's Cross. I've been meaning to try this restaurant out for quite sometime now since he's always been raving about how top notch this place was, plus in the past I’ve always had the worst luck in being able to make a reservation at this place, particularly last year for my 21st birthday on countless occasions I’ve failed to make a reservation for this restaurant considering they’re often booked out. So it's finally great that he’s managed to organise a reservation for us tomorrow. Yay, I finally get to try this place out. I hope it really lives up to its reputation. All in all, you can only imagine how excited I am about everything. Life's just awesome right now.

A touch of cool

One moment it's 36degrees at midnight then next thing you know it drop's as low as a chilly winter's morning. Mother Nature is going ballistic; in less than 24hours the weather couldn't have been more unpredictable. But it was nice to finally feel cooler breezes after enduring a week of heatwaves. I've missed wearing wedged booties and knits. The only part I miss most about winter; being able to play around with and tossing on plenty of layers and all the stylish variety! Nothing too heavy with the knit, just a throw over poncho I picked up the other day for a ridiculous price. Can you believe only $2.50 from Supre?! It's practically stealing! Such a bargain for something brand new, a prouder result than a Thrift Shopping score. I felt like I was wrapped up nicely in a blanket haha. But I really can't wait to do this knit proper justice in winter when it's better teamed with my black suede/leather thigh high boots I've safely packed away for the summer. Anyway, I wish I took better snaps of the poncho... looking rather awkward below haha, such an unfortunate rush job before heading out for work. Warm and totally 'wrapped' with such a bargain ;)

A bargain I can't get over!

Burning on the Dancefloor

I couldn't have a picked a better night out to go drinking than last night. It was Sydney's hottest night to date this summer (and apparently record breaking for Syd), reaching to 36 degrees last night! Insane! I spent the day over at Tim's house earlier relaxed in his pool again before heading out with Amanda for a night out on my final weekend before my holiday next week and of course really it was just an excuse to get rowdy on a Saturday Night. Starting off with a few bottles of wine before heading out to Bamboo at Martin Pl bar and Vanity at Verandah Bar, we were struggling to keep up drinking in the heat; it just felt like we were partying in a sauna all night. I wasn't even sure if I was just intoxicated or whether it was dehydration from the crazy heat. But nevertheless, a good piss up night!

Friday Night Treat

The sweltering heat on Friday night called for a date out in Town with the boy. Savouring our hunger with a nice long dinner at Wagaya Japanese Restaurant followed by a perfect cool treat of yummy ice-cream dessert at Passion Flower. A Simple Friday night date with mister special. These are the moments I cherish most… perfectly warm summer nights!

Happy New Year - yet again!

Just like to wish everyone a Happy Lunar New Years!

For the Chinese: Happy Rabbit Year.

For the Vietnamese: Happy Cat Year.

Damn Asians and our countless superstitions and odd traditions. But then I really can't complain about all the red pockets I'll be able to reap in soon from my relos. Horahh, More extra cash for my holiday!

Anyway in relation to Chinese New Years and for all the many sneaker freakers out there (especially my boyfriend the sneaker addict haha) this one's for you... how odd are these kicks?! Puma's Chinese New Years edition.

The Heatwave

It was good to have a day off today, as much as I wanted to head to the beach to gain some colour, but the heat was just way too overwhelming and I wasn't so keen on coming home to nurturing sunburns considering there would have been no surprises that I would have ended up so. Hence I took refuge in the comfort of my air-conditioned home all morning, it was the best option to take. Besides... I was way too lethargic anyway.

However, I wanted to trial out my new camera today to see how well it really turns out during the daytime. Conveniently enough I also made plans to meet up with Liana for a catch up session at Parramatta. Originally we were to catch up at midday like we always dobut of course once again the wiser option was to save it to a later hour to avoid the extreme heat. Cold fruity cocktails and gelato ice cream was the only way to spend a catch-up session in this heatwave.

Well anyway, I love the results of my new camera!

Gadget Fix

So after criticising about the iPhone4 for sometime now, I was given the option from my mum to either take the iPhone4 for myself or my mother gets it. Selfishly enough my mother was not fussed about either the old or new phone; so eventually I got sucked into conforming over and trading my current 3GS for the new. I'm starting to really get sucked into all Apple products now; next up is most likely a new laptop. It's time to upgrade to a MacBook.

But yay, I've finally manage to pick up my camera today from my mate who was awesome enough to hook me up with a good deal for the Canon s95 since conveniently enough he works with the company. I decided on this particular camera based on the reviews and recommendations from other friends. It's going to be perfect for my trip coming up next week and it's about time the quality of the photos on my blog improved a little haha. Can't wait to make good use of it! Only 9 days to go, ahhh!
