The Reunion

It was only two weeks post from my vacation with friends in Asia and yet again I was still feeling symptoms of holiday withdrawals. My travelling buddies and I ever since, have continued to keep in touch everyday from the moment we arrived back home. Things were still taking some time adjusting back into routine again and nights without my friends ever since have felt a little lonely and boring, so we all decided to gather together to catch up on how everyone was coping even though it was only a fortnight post-vacation. During our trip abroad we’d always use to complain and mention certain western food items we were all craving most that we couldn’t get while we were overseas. And usually it was always: Charcoal Chicken with Chips and large doses of Garlic Sauce. So of course us hungry loving kids, all agreed to meet up and grab that for dinner. So our little reunion began at a small take out shop in Fairfield located in Sydney’s south west called ‘Tenda Chicken’. Seeing them all felt as if I was on vacation again. The amount of laughter, jokes and gossip between us were and are always endless. There’s never a moment I don’t end up laughing so hard that I end up crying or end up seriously hurting myself in the process. Our long night of chats continued locally over a few good drinks at Mounties RSL Club. Casual drinks of course between us always turns into a drinking marathon and next thing you know we were all on the dance floor dancing with old people haha. Nothing too extravagant and ending the night chilling at the closest 24 hour McDonald’s is always a classic way to end a night of drinking. I've missed spending time with these guys horribly!

Golden Coast Moments

In the blink of an eye it was already the final day of my weekend in Queensland with my friends before having to fly home later that afternoon back home to Sydney. After a nice long breakfast at a nearby café we spent the remainder of our hours taking a final stroll along Surfers paradise, grabbing ice-cream, final shopping and basking in the sea water air by the beach. We even manage to fit in visiting a popular small leisure attraction called ‘Infinity’. It was basically like a technologically enhanced amusement maze centre where you walk through and basically the whole aim of the attraction is to make you feel like you are walking through different galaxies and at some points it was like a haunted house. We were made to wear white gloves and white cloths over our shoes to enhance the UV lighting to help guide ourselves through this maze-like venue. It was very cool. The lights were definitely trippy, some rooms were just creepy and dark, others were just hilariously fun because there was a moment I felt like I was inside someone’s intestines or something because the walls were so squishy and felt as if I was getting eaten alive, and there was even another room filled with massive balls for simply just kicking around. Great fun, which lasted about an hour before having to head straight for the airport home back to Sydney. Once again, another short holiday over so quickly!

Juvenile Joys

Head pounding, feet were sore, true signs of way too many big messy nights already! Waking up the following morning, we knew we all couldn’t really waste another day sleeping in again and it was vital that we had to at least visit one theme park while were in Queensland. Forcing our hung over asses up, the juvenile excitement didn’t really hit until we finally arrived at Wet ‘n’ Wild Water World. I must admit I’m a total water person and I love adrenaline rush activities. Wet ‘n’ Wild had catered to the best of both worlds. However if only we were staying much longer in Queensland, than without a doubt I would have wanted to go to all of the other theme parks! After spending the entire day at Wet ‘n’ Wild, no surprises how worn out we all were by the end of the day, so clubbing was definitely out of the question. Sometimes it’s just better to go have a nice long dinner and long walks by the beach at night. We did mange to fit in a few more juvenile activities like playing games in Timezone just for that extra bit of low key fun. Nevertheless the weather that night was just one of those nights you can’t pass up being outside in the warm.

The Club Hop

After such a heavy first night of drinking at my Queensland Weekend getaway to celebrate a few of my friends birthdays, to no surprises we woke up far too late to even consider going to a theme park that we were all initially hoping on going that next morning. So it called for a full day of R&R; early tanning sessions by the resorts’ lagoon pool, shopping around town and basically browsing around the streets of Gold coast – the touristy stuff of course! It’s probably the first proper time I’ve actually visited the Gold Coast ever, so it was nice to see part of what Queensland had to offer. Plans for later that night out my friends and I basically booked ourselves a recommended ‘Club Hopping programme’ that was available everywhere in the Gold Coast to organise through. This programme was basically a prearranged ‘Club Hopping’ night out for you and your friends, where the agenda of your night begins at a pick up location taking you around town in a hummer limousine with drinks provided during the process and covered entry to three major nightclubs in the Gold Coast: Vanity Nightclub, Shooters Nightclub and Sin City Nightclub. Along each club pit stop, drinks was always provided. For many of us, this club hopping programme eventually turned very messy. It was definitely a very convenient way to try out different venues in the Gold Coast especially when most of my friends and I weren’t so familiar with the more ‘popular’ clubs available there. Two nights in a row of drinking absolutely made me sick by the end of the second night!
