Journey Destination #2: Malaysian Mayhem

So after doing the unthinkable chucking an all nighter in Melbourne, the flight to the second pitt stop: Malaysia couldn’t have felt longer! The last 2 hours of the flight just felt as if it dragged on for hours. But I suppose it was something well worth it in the end, and done and dusted. It was definitely fun and hilarious at the time, but not something highly recommended for others to do haha.

By the time we arrived in Malaysia Saturday afternoon, everyone was just way too pumped to even consider having a real proper nap after such a draggy flight. So after checking into our first of many hotels of the trip at The Ascott in Kuala Lumpar we quickly re-freshened up before hitting the shopping mall asap considering where we were staying at the time was fairly central to everything in the city, especially only a few minute walk from our hotel to Malaysia’s famous Patronas Twin Towers in which also located a massive shopping centre below it with trading hours up to 10pm! Hello Topshop and Zara! You’d also expect that after a previously crazy night of clubbing in Melbourne, as well as a long ass flight we’d be sensible enough to rest up that following night… but of course, it was go hard or go home right? We found our asses crawling out at midnight hitting one of the popular clubs in town called ‘Zouk’. We didn’t really think that anything else could really top off a messy night than the night in Melbourne, but I dare say my experience in Malaysia would have to be ‘the best clubbing experience I’ve ever had’ and knowing myself, I’ve clubbed plenty! We were privileged enough to have a friend who was well familiar with the venue promoters to be able to access the club free of charge and express! The club just simply screamed ‘parrrrty’ the moment we stepped foot inside. Besides the dramas of one of the boys, Phi, who was stopped by the club bouncers for looking “too young” to be able to enter the venue being as the legal age limit was 18 for females and 23 for males, however lucky enough, our sources were able to squeeze him in not too long after. The night proceeded with many unforgettable moments to cherish such as: Table service, smoking indoors available (that was the only good part for me in particular, being a smoker haha), massive long island jugs, all expenses i.e. express entry & alcoholic beverages generously paid for, crazy maxed out capacity in every room and last but not least Phi got his index finger randomly sucked by a dude in the club HAHAHA… but I won’t go through much detail considering that I’m sure he’s still feeling very ‘WTF’ from the incident till today lol. The story is just way too hilarious and it continued to bring great laughter every time it was brought up throughout the trip.

The remainder moments in Malaysia was purely just spent wining, dining, swimming and shopping! All the best parts about holidaying! On Monday 14th February however, on our final night in Malaysia it just so happen that it was Valentines Day. And since the majority of us all left our dear partners behind back at home, we thought it was only appropriate to celebrate the hallmark holiday together for dinner, late night swimming followed by a sweet exchange of yummy cupcakes and macaroons. It’s not everyday you get to celebrate Valentines Day in another country with a group of friends. Malaysia was definitely more than what I'd originally expected of it. However, this leg of our journey was still just in its early days… two destinations down still many more that followed...
