Rolling in the cash in Macau

So it was finally Bon voyage Thailand. Goodbye to sweltering heat, sunny days, exotic resorts and beautiful beach sides. We were all more than ready to return back to the hustle and bustle of city lights and of course, more than ready to blow some good cash & shop our arses off! We didn’t arrive to Hong Kong until late in the night, but even then, we had to make our journey straight to Macau on the first night of arrival. Arriving in Macau aka. Asia’s Vegas close to midnight we checked into yet another one of our glorious hotels of the trip, The Venetians. The Venetians in Macau is apparently exactly like the one in Vegas. This place is just simply gorgeous and you could really understand why it would be named ‘The Venetian’ when you see it first hand. The set up is just so surreal and vintage. Our night in Macau was just basically spent within the Hotel itself. It’s really that big enough to spend a whole day/night in. I’m not the biggest fan of gambling and the same went for most of my mates also, but hey we were in Macau… so you just got to! Surprisingly the lot of us ended up spending quite a bit of time at the Casino and to top it off for most of us we were quite lucky throughout the night. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed roulette so much more than I did that night. Hello to winnings!

For the remainder of the following day, it was only essential for us to take a spin on the gondolas routes that were operating within the casino/hotel on the man-made river set up indoors. It was like walking through mini Venice, absolutely so beautiful! Making a new friend that day, the operator of our gondola was a lovely young Filipino femal e who had previously worked at The Venetians in Vegas, but has now moved to work in Macau. As she paddled our gondola along the canals we were privileged enough to be serenaded with classic italian melodies, but it wasn't long before we got her singing Whitney Houston & Alicia Keys for us. What an amazing voice she has, I’ve never felt goose bumps hearing someone sing live. I’ll try to upload a few videos up when I get the chance to snag them off my mates who managed to record it.

The Venetians is just simply so beautiful. You could really get lost in that place and to no surprises; we seized every opportunity to go shopping asap inside the Venetians. Hello Zara! For anyone who plans to head to Macau, this is defintely the best place to stay while you're there...
