Finding sanctuary in Koh Samui

So our final night in Patong/Phuket was over and after waking up to an ugly hangover as expected next morning, we were all packed, up and ready to head on our 6 hour road trip from Patong/Phuket to Koh Samui island where we stayed for the next few nights in preparation for the greatly anticipated Full Moon Party night. Originally we were hoping to catch flights to Koh Samui directly however, unfortunately it was our fault for leaving things till last minute that all flights were already completely booked out months in advance considering there was a great demand to fly to Koh Samui during the Full moon party period. So instead, we manage to hire ourselves a driver & a private mini bus to take us on a long (however felt considerably quick) travel to the pier dock where we continued by ferry to Koh Samui Island.

So after spending a day on the road we finally checked in later that afternoon at the most amazing place we stayed in on our entire trip called 'The Anantara' on Koh Samui. This resort was just absolutely screaming exotic and romantic!!! I cannot stress how highly I recommend this resort for all those who intend to travel to and stay on Koh Samui, particularly for couples. From their quality friendly services to there ridiculously beautiful set up... this place is seriously the place to check in! To top it off we were also given the greatest opportunity to be upgraded to a deluxe room with our very own private pool literally only one foot away from our bed. plus complimentary massages. Good Karma after our ‘Oprah moment’ donating money to our lovely misuse ladies back in Patong/Phuket really goes a long way, haha! So later that night after being in such awe at our beautiful stay for the next few nights, the lot of us wanted nothing more than to just simply stay put within our resort. So kicking back on a warm night having a long intimate beautiful dinner with plenty of wine followed by a good session of curling up in front of the tele in our hotel room watching classic ‘Friends’ together couldn't have topped off our much needed R&R.

On our second day on Koh Smaui Island next morning, we had to maximise the very few days we were spending there. And so it was on everyone’s to do list to finally go Elephant Riding! It’s definitely something you must do while in Thailand – almost a compulsory part of anyone’s itinerary really, haha. Spending the afternoon at Namuang Safari Park where we finally rode an elephant with the chance to play around with other animals before heading back later that afternoon in preparation for the most anticipated night of them all… The Full Moon party…
